Downtown House of Pizza has a corner location in historic downtown Ft. Myers on Hendry Street. Opened in 2005, they specialize in New York style pizza, characterized by a thin crust, spicy tomato sauce, and ample mozzarella cheese. They also have other kinds of pizza like Caprese, Florentine, Lassgna, Taco, Hawaiian, and Classic Italian. In addition to pizza they sell salad, hot and cold subs, calzones, stromboli, beer, and desserts.
I got the chance to try their pizza when my friend ordered a pie to Coastal Dayz Brewery which does not serve food. It took awhile to arrive but it was worth the wait. I was treated to the Sicilian White Pizza made with a garlic and oil base, fresh garlic and oil, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese. It was delicious and you could taste the quality in the ingredients.
The pizza paired perfectly with all of the great craft beers and ciders served by Coastal Dayz. It was more than we could finish and the brewery staff were delighted to help us out. Apparently this is the place to get pizza in Ft. Myers. Next time I'm in town I'll pop into the pizzeria to try more of the menu.

Good pizza. Good sauce, right amount of cheese. The crust is kind of cracker-ey, it's a little thin for my taste. Since moving to fort myers from NY, many people have told me to try DHOP and I'm glad I made the trip.
