Barefoot Beach Preserve Update
Barefoot Beach Preserve is open. It is the last beach in Collier County to open after Hurricane Ian’s massive destruction.There’s still a lot of work to be done.
Parking lot #1, the restrooms and snack bar, boardwalks and the trail are still closed. There are portable bathrooms by parking lot #3.Collier County had a lot to do before opening the park. The parking lotsand roads were covered in sand and debris after being blanketed with about eight feet of water during the storm. The boardwalks were all
severely damaged and the beach was littered with fragments of everything from construction material to trash.

Collier County’s desirable coast reaches its zenith at Barefoot Beach Preserve, where numerous animal species reside and visitors are able to enjoy the ambience of the park’s natural surroundings. Barefoot Beach Preserve is 342 acres of natural land, one of the last undeveloped barrier islands on Florida’s Southwest coast. Visit Friends of Barefoot Beach Preserve Website.

Barefoot Beach Access is located 20 feet off Bonita Beach Road on Lely Barefoot Boulevard the access provides an open, peaceful location for sunbathers. Barefoot Beach Preserve Park is located just South of this access point. Just North is Bonita Beach Park.
